Is it bad to want to go back?

I hate things “in” my ears and the only headset I have liked so far is the Sony wired one my hubby bought be for my birthday last year.  They don’t feel like anything is IN my ears.  I have tried numerous Bluetooth ones that I just don’t like.   So, as a lark and for a joke at my training sessions I bought this “old school” phone attachment.   Surprisingly, I actually have used it.  Ha ha.  Ok, not in public but at the office.   Too funny?

BEFORE – Can you tell it isn’t anything but a regular old phone?

How to find your #iPad or #iPhone

Image003

Forget where you put your iDevice?   This works for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

You can find it on a map

Display a message and make a sound – How about “Hey iPad, call me at xxxxxx”  Ha ha.

You can also force it to lock ( providing you have a passcode)

And last but not least, you can remote wipe!  Back to factory defaults. Yikes.

Don’t forget to do this FIRST:

Turn on “Find my xxxx”

·         Settings

·         ICloud

Find my iDevice uses Wi-Fi so if it is turned off or not connected you are out of luck!  Happy finding of your iDevice!

HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY FIND IT?

Sign in to icloud.com from any web browser on a Mac or PC. Or borrow your friend’s iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch and use the Find My iPhone app. Find My iPad shows you the approximate location of your iPad on a map.

So far RIM gives away three BlackBerry apps

Due to the 3 day outage in October RIM is gifting APPS for FREE until December 31st.

Driving/Safety Apps

  • Drivesafe.ly -Listen to emails and texts aloud and respond by voice. (Oct 2011)

Games

  • Bubble Bash 2 (Oct 2011)

Music

  • Shazam Encore - Tells you the name of the song that is playing on any source. Though I can't see a way to buy the song if you want it. Missed opportunity I say! (November 1, 2011)

Don't pay for texting! Use WhatsApp

My favourite cross platform messaging app for the iPhone is WhatsApp Messenger, one of the most popular apps in the App Store. It allows me to communicate with anyone who is using an iPhone, Blackberry, Android, or Nokia device. You can group chat, send pictures, videos, audio, and even share your location.

When my husband was testing an iPhone (coming from a raving BlackBerry fan) we no longer could communicate using BBM.  I cried for days over this.  ha ha….but we found WhatsApp's newest version almost comparable!

What's New in OS Lion the new MAC Operating System. Yes you may be able to upgrade!

An Apple information piece from one of our fantastic Apple (iPhone, iPad, iAnthing) Trainers!

Apple released its latest update to the Mac operating system, 10.7, also known as Lion this July.

The new OS adds 250 new features.

·         Multi-touch gestures are now supported on laptops and with Apple's Magic Mouse.

·         Launchpad makes choosing an application the same as it is on an iPad or iPod Touch.

·         Autosave has been added.

·         Version support means that you can now access any version of a document quickly and easily through an interface similar to Time Machine.

·         Resume lets you get right back to work where you left off.

·         Mail, iCal, and Contacts all have a handsome new look and Mail has been given a number of updates including conversation support, making the back and forth of email much easier to follow.

·         Mission Control gives you an overview of one or even multiple desktops, allowing you to switch between applications and their documents with the flick of a wrist.

Even installing Lion itself has taken a leap forward with no disk to buy and no need to leave your desk. The update is simply downloaded from Apple's App Store for a very reasonable $29.99. If you'd like more information on these features  or to book a training session.
