 In quotations (A) means that most apps work on Apple devices like iPhone and iPad and (B) means that most apps work on BlackBerry and PlayBook.

PRESENTATION SOFTWARE

  • Keynote (A): This is Apples version of PowerPoint.  It is pretty powerful stuff.   If you want your iPad to have the ability to use a projector you need to purchase a VGA Adapter to mirror your iPad on to the projector screen.
  • None needed for BlackBerry or PlayBook as you can view PowerPoint with built in software Documents to go.  You are also use your BlackBerry as a presenter with Impatica hardware and software.   I had used their product for years but they have the worst support I have ever run across.  Buyer beware.

  • Freshbooks: Love FreshBooks for our invoicing and quotes. Simply THE BEST customer service I have ever had an experience with. They really do care and are always adding upgrades from customer input! I can't say enough about them. We have used Quicken and Simply Accounting in the past and this is far far far superior.

  • Dropbox (A & B):  Honestly was a life saver for me.  I can access my files anywhere in the world at any time.  I love, love, love this app!

  • Tungle (A & B): This was also a game changer for me, especially if you are making appointments with people outside your organization! 
MESSAGING
  • WhatsApp (A & B): Ok, so if you know me at all, I am all about saving money.  STOP Texting!   Texting either costs you or your company for every text in and out or you or your company have purchased a plan.  Either way it costs someone something!  WhatsApp uses your data plan which you can be using over Wi-Fi, which won’t cost you anything!    What you might be asking yourself is “So what?  I use BBM or iMessage”.  Fantastic but you can only use them BlackBerry to BlackBerry or Apple to Apple.  WhatsApp you can message ANY other mobile device.
