Message from Darci, Founder, Swirl Solutions

"Learning is a huge part of life and even with a couple of brothers, I was the one taking things apart to see how they worked. It gave me great joy.  As I grew up I got the same joy teaching others how things work.  It took a few, ok many, years to figure out how to incorporate this into a fulfilling career.

I have been in IT since 1995 , graduating with honours from Capilano College. I never quite fit into the typical IT role. I wanted to connect with people not just servers. Working in a large organization, we weren't usually given time to train the end user,  though I always pushed for it and would even secretly train users. Training is essential regardless of the technology. It might be easy for us, being in IT, but is it easy for you?

But why BlackBerry training?

I jumped at an opportunity in 2003 to test the best wireless device. We tested various ones, including Palm and BlackBerry. In the end, BlackBerry won, hands down, due to its enormous functionality and reduced support requirements.

Once we chose BlackBerrys as the solution, the user base quickly grew to 200, then 400. It really was a learn-as-you-go project and many lessons were learned along the way. At about that time I decided to have a 1 hour training session in a boardroom for 20 people. I sent out a meeting request, and by the end of the day 200 users had accepted! I was astounded. All of these people were willing to take time out of their day, to take a course on BlackBerry use? I had found my niche! Over the next 2 years I held 1 hour sessions every 2 weeks. They were always full and always had extremely positive comments from the attendees.

Swirl Solutions was born. I wanted to share the knowledge with corporations and private users. I still have a survey at the end of the workshop and when attendees tells me how much more confident they are, how fun the workshop is, and how much they learned, I think, What a great job I have!

Our Products

During this pilot project many of my customers were asking for a different, better holster/case/organizer. The holsters that came with the BlackBerry® unit were very inefficient and didn't help to organize. Key elements seemed to be missing - swivel clip, multiple wear options, space for small personal items, etc.

So I decided to do something about it. I met with a designer and a Canadian manufacturer to discuss my idea. After a few years of designing and tweaking, Swirl Solutions is proud to offer you The Mobile Organizer, perfect for both men and women. I wanted people to have a place to put their cash, credit cards, USB key, and whatever items they use daily.
